If you're like me, then you love having a library of books that enhance your knowledge. I definitely have my favorites when it comes to healing work, whether it's energy medicine, plant medicine or understanding energy theory.
First up, though I'm not including them in my recommendations, are my training books in Shamanic Reiki. If you decide to take a class with me you'll want these as resources. They are meant to be training manuals and not stand alone books on the subject, so keep that in mind if you order.
Now onto my resource list. We'll begin with my favorite chakra healing books:
The Ultimate Guide to Chakras In-depth guide that includes balancing practices.
The Book of Chakra Healing This was my first ever chakra book. It is updated and revised.
Plant medicine herbal healing books:
Alchemy of Herbs Rosalee is an amazing herbalist and this book is above and beyond!
Herbal Recipes Rosemary Gladstar is like the Mother of Herbalism. This little book has great recipes that I've used for many years!
Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs if you're looking more for magical correspondences for shamanic or witchy work, this is a great resource.
Shamanic energy healing books:
Alchemical Healing My absolute favorite energy healing book with guided practices.
Earth Magic If you want to understand more around philosophies and practices, this is a great introduction.
Animal Speak Has remained my favorite resource for working with animal allies. I first discovered this book in the 90's and it will remain in my top list as it is unadulterated by much of the fluff we see today.
Crystals:
The Book of Stones You will never need another crystal book if you have this one. There is a second book in this collection as well.
Crystalpedia If you want more simplicity but still a good resource this is the crystal book for you.
These books are valuable resources that have adorned my bookcases for years. I currently have 3 bookcases filled with books. I love having a library of knowledge at my fingertips. When I first began my journey into shamanism and the healing arts back in the 90's, all I had were books. I spent lots of weekends in the local library devouring all the information I could find and then integrating what I read by walking nature paths on the beautiful island of Hawaii. I learned as much from just being present on the land open to guidance as I did reading the books. I learned early on that even the information found in books is filtered through the authors lens of connection. I would receive downloads and insights into things that were not quite translated correctly, or recognize where personal gnosis influenced an infinite concept making it appear limited. Because of this, I dived into meditation journeys to learn directly from Spirit. At just 16 I was meditating and connecting to the threads of Universal Oneness. That has been my path ever since. Now I just continue learning for fun because I love the history and teachings behind traditional practices. I want to see lineages preserved for future generations and help the world to feel safer in practicing these old ways. I will never forget sitting in my Hawaiian history and language class, as the only white person in the class, and crying over the loss of such a beautiful culture, and feeling deeply ashamed of my people. It was even more upsetting that others were not as interested in learning the history of the beautiful land they were on. The preservation of these cultural lineages is near and dear to my heart. If I would have known cultural anthropology was a thing, I would likely have a very different career right now. I could go on forever about how I feel in regards to this matter, but just know, I hope to find a way to help in a bigger capacity other than just sharing awareness.
So, back to the resources, if you like more of a novel style book that also teaches with messages of healing, philosophy and practices, here's some bonuses:
Woman Who Glows in the Dark One of my teachers teacher, Elena speaks of her practices as a Curandera and nurse as it influences her healing practices.
The Teachings of Don Juan I loved this book series. It takes you on an incredible journey of insight and experience.
The Celestine Prophecy I recommend the whole series! The movie wasn't too bad either.
The Mastery of Self The entire mastery series from Don Miguel is must have collection, and I have them all. They are amazing resources that will lead you to discovering the truth of your inner voice beyond the mind.
I linked all of these resources to Amazon to make it super easy for you. I do receive a small incentive from amazon for directing you there as an affiliate. This in no way affects your price, but gives me a little extra for recommending things I already recommend.
If you get any of these books, or have already read some, I would love to know what you think about it! Leave me a comment below.
Happy Reading!
