About the event

Bring your own attire to dye! Do you have old clothing that just doesn't do it for you anymore? Do you have clothes with stains you just can't get out? Maybe you have an old piece of fabric laying around and are wondering what to do with it? DYE IT ALL!!! We will have limited blanks available for purchase at the event. But we encourage all to bring their own to dye.

The material should be at least 50% cotton, rayon, linen, viscose, hemp, bamboo even. The higher the natural fiber content, the better it will hold and realize color. We can't dye polyester, vinyl, or spandex.

Here's what to expect:

We will have stations set up for each step of the process and we will walk you through every step and will be right there to lend a helping hand if needed.

First: We need to soak each garment in a mix of water and soda ash for 15-20min. This will allow the color to bind to the fibers of your garment. This could be a shirt, sweatshirt, towel, tapestry, hat, socks, T-shirt, etc. You can browse the shop while it soaks!

Second: We will ring out all excess water/soda ash and then get to tying everything up. We will have rubber bands and gloves to protect your hands from the dye. Along with some examples to help inspire your tying. We can tie for you or you can do it yourself (preferred for your own unique creation).

Third: We will bring you to the dye station where you will add as much or as little dye as your heart desires. We will have several color options and you are always welcome to combine colors on your garment. We get some really cool colors by layering one over the other sometimes.

Fourth and Last: We will bag up your garment/s and give you instructions on what to do next. Your garments should sit in a warm place in the bag for at least 18 hours, but you can let them sit as long as you'd like before rinsing and washing.

Cost is starts at $10 per item depending on size, fabric, thickness, etc. Sweatshirts are typically $15-$30 depending on size and thickness. Kids clothing is $3-$10 generally, again depending on size and thickness. Payment is made at event!

Any other inquiries or questions, please don't hesitate to ask. We hope to see as many familiar and new faces as possible! Tell your friends, bring your family, everyone is welcome!
